How This Tool Works

Select a country to see priority dates for all employment-based (EB) green card categories. Each category card shows two dates: the Final Action Date (when USCIS makes a decision on your case) and the Filing Date (when you can submit your I-485 application). The tracker compares current dates to the previous month's bulletin and calculates movement — showing whether dates moved forward, remained the same, or retrogressed.

What the Data Covers

Monthly Visa Bulletin data from the Department of State for all employment-based categories (EB-1, EB-2, EB-3, EB-4, EB-5) and countries (India, China, Mexico, Philippines, All Others). Both Final Action Dates and Dates for Filing are tracked with month-over-month movement calculations.

Tips for Using This Tool

1Check both the Final Action Date and Filing Date — the Filing Date determines when you can submit I-485, while the Final Action Date determines when your case is decided.
2India EB-2 and EB-3 have the longest backlogs. If you're India-born, compare EB-2 vs EB-3 movement to see which category is advancing faster.
3Movement isn't always linear — dates can jump forward several months or retrogress. Check monthly for changes.
4If a category shows 'Current,' it means there's no backlog and you can file immediately.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Filing Date is when you can submit your I-485 application. The Final Action Date is when USCIS makes a final decision. USCIS announces each month which chart applies — sometimes Filing Dates (more generous), sometimes Final Action Dates.

Data Source & Methodology

Priority date data is sourced from the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Consular Affairs Monthly Visa Bulletin. VisaPulse stores historical bulletin data and calculates month-over-month movement by comparing the current and previous month's dates.

⚠️

Priority dates show the current state of the visa bulletin, not your individual case status. Your actual wait time depends on your priority date, category, country of chargeability, and USCIS processing times. The tracker does not predict future movement — dates can advance or retrogress unpredictably.
